The Sound House, a world-class live music venue, offers diverse musical talents the stage to shape the sounds of Dublin. They are committed to providing an exceptional live music experience, making them a go-to destination for music lovers from all over the city. To embody their ethos and raise brand awareness, they required a distinctive and contemporary brand.
Madcraft was approached by The Sound House with the objective of creating a strong and recognizable brand within the live music industry. The goal was to develop a brand look and language that would express The Sound House’s unique identity and differentiate them from competitors in the market.
Madcraft began by conducting extensive research, both internally and externally, to understand what made The Sound House unique and what their target audience was looking for in a live music venue. The brand design team then undertook a competitor analysis to understand where there were opportunities to differentiate their business in the market.
Madcraft crafted a logo which comprised of two elements: The Sound House icon and The Sound House wordmark. For the brand icon, a house icon wascreated and for the word mark, Madcraft took inspiration from the urban topography of the city and utilized the logo font to create different shapes and forms echoing the physical features of this urban landscape.
From there, the brand colors and typography were expanded out further, with a graphic language of patterns, forms and illustrations to enhance the openness of all communication
Madcraft worked closely with the Sound House team to establish a brand identity, supported by an in-depth Corporate Identity Guide, a suite of brand logos and patterns to ensure that the brand is applied consistently across applications. The brand was applied to a new website, and also updated their existing online and offline promotional materials to ensure the brand launch was comprehensive and successful.
